Bernie Grundman (b. 16 December 1943, Minneapolis, Minnesota) is a distinguished American recording and mastering engineer; best known as the founder and owner of Bernie Grundman Mastering, which Bernie established in 1984 in Hollywood, California. His son, Paul Grundman (b. 1973), also became an audio engineer and has been working at BGM for many years.
Grundman studied electrical engineering at Arizona State University and began his career in 1966 at Contemporary Studios in Hollywood. Bernie served as Chief Mastering Engineer at (1968 to 1984) before opening his studio.
