A central figure in the 1960s Greenwich Village music scene, he left an enduring mark on the industry with the following career highlights:
Free Jazz & Folk Production: He served as the chief recording engineer for the legendary avant-garde label ESP-Disk, where he produced and recorded seminal work for artists like Sun Ra.
Bob Dylan: He notably worked as Bob Dylan's live sound mixer and audio technician during his historic, genre-shifting 1965–1966 "electric" tour.
Venue Design: He engineered and built the original sound system for the iconic New York folk and jazz venue, the Village Gate.
Studio Operations: In the 1970s and 1980s, he operated Rosebud Recording for Ralph MacDonald, engineering multi-platinum records for artists like Grover Washington, Jr..
