Member of The Modern Jazz Quartet. He performed with artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Howard McGhee, Woody Herman, and John Coltrane, among others as well as in his own bands. Brother of Alvin Jackson.
