Biography

Linda Good (b. 1 March 1971?, Chicago, Illinois) is an American keyboardist, composer, songwriter, vocalist, and producer based in Los Angeles, California. She co-founded The Twigs indie-pop duo with her twin sister, Laura Good, in 1996, and was a session/tour member of several prominent bands in the early-to-mid 2000s. Good toured with Jane's Addiction between August and November 2001, including performances at Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl. From December 2001 to October 2002, Linda temporarily joined The Mars Volta, replacing keyboardist Isaiah "Ikey" Owens, who stepped down after TMV's mini-tour in Europe and Japan and the Coachella Music Festival show in May 2002. At the same time, the Mars Volta's original bassist, Eva Gardner, withdrew from the project to grieve the loss of her father, replaced by Cedric Bixler-Zavala's childhood friend and ex-Los Dregtones bandmate, Ralph Jasso. The new lineup played a handful of shows across the Greater Los Angeles Area and recorded the early versions of TMV's debut album, De-Loused In The Comatorium, before Rick Rubin joined as a producer. (Lost for nearly two decades, these demo tapes were unearthed and released as Landscape Tantrums LP in April 2021 by Clouds Hill/Rodriguez Lopez Productions; no personnel is credited in the liner notes.) According to Linda Good's LinkedIn profile, she also participated in later sessions at Rubin's Mansion studio in Laurel Canyon; none of her parts made the final cut, evidently, and the released album only credited "Ikey" Owens on keyboards. Between 2002 and 2006, Good was a keyboardist and backing vocalist for Lisa Marie Presley's band, touring the United States and the UK, and making countless TV appearances, including Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel's, and The Ellen Show. Linda Good toured with Bitter:Sweet in 2007–2008.
