British-American composer, known for his Walt Disney Studios film compositions.
Born: August 6, 1887, London, England.
Died: September 15, 1963, Los Angeles, USA.
His first score for Disney was 1940's Pinocchio and was still working at Disney shortly before his death in 1963.
He's best known scores for Disney include Dumbo (1941), Peter Pan (1953), Der Fuehrer's Face (1942), Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom (1953), The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949), and Fun and Fancy Free (1947).
Wallace moved to the United States in 1904 and became an official citizen 10 years later.
He charted four times between 1918-1948 in the U.S. "Hindustan" (co-written by Harold Weeks), charted three times, by Joseph C. Smith's Orchestra (1918, #3), by Henry Burr & Albert Campbell (1919, #6), and finally by Ted Weems and His Orchestra (1948, #23). He also charted with "Der Fuehrer's Face" by Spike Jones and His City Slickers (1942, #3).
