American record producer.
Brother of Steve Venet.
He started at age 19, then became a staff producer and talent scout at. He signed The Beach Boys and produced their first album "Surfin' Safari" in 1962.
In the early 1970s he moved, working with performers ranging from Don McLean (Venet was executive producer of his “American Pie") to Frank Zappa.
