Biography
Credited for writing lyrics for the jazz standard "My Melancholy Baby", around the time that Maybelle was the wife of Ernie Burnett. Her name is also documented as M. E. W. Bergmann (Catalog Of Copyright Entries, 1940, New Series, Volume 13) and as Maybelle E. Watson Bergmann (Catalog Of Copyright Entries, 1940, New Series, Volume 35). All the contemporary reports in trade publications seem to use just Maybelle Watson.
