Biography

French author and songwriter born in Paris 18 April 1924 and died in Rueil-Malmaison 10 October 1986. He often wrote lyrics for music composed by Jacques Datin. In 1954, one of their early works was written for Juliette Gréco. From 1957, their association resulted in such successful songs as "Zon zon" interpreted by Colette Renard and Michèle Arnaud (1957), "Julie" by Marcel Amont (1957), and "Les Boutons dorés" written for Jean-Jacques Debout and covered by Barbara in 1959.
Many interpreters have used his lyrics, such as Gilbert Bécaud, Michel Fugain, France Gall, Françoise Hardy (Le Temps des souvenirs), Gérard Lenorman, and Mireille Mathieu (Paris en colère).
