Grammy Award-winning American recording engineer and producer, born July 27, 1959, in New York City; died August 16, 2017, in Blairstown, New Jersey (age 58).
Raised in Cresskill, New Jersey, and attended the Institute of Audio Research in New York. Started out as an assistant to Bob Clearmountain. First worked at Secret Sound, then at the Power Station and The Hit Factory in New York. Known for his drum recording sound, and worked on recordings that generated a total sales of more than 100 million units. In 2006, became chief engineer at The Barber Shop Studios in Hopatcong, New Jersey. Was a senior technical consultant to Dream Makers Music. His final projects were two anthologies for the Cars and two 1980s compilations.
