Performed and recorded with Benny Goodman, Buddy Rich, Luiz Bonfa, Wayne Shorter, Hubert Laws, Paul Desmond, Michel Legrand, Lalo Schifrin, Ronnie Foster, Jack Wilkins, Mike Mainieri, Stanley Turrentine, and Ron Carter, among others, as well as singers as Tony Bennett, Carmen McRae, Lena Horne, Nancy Wilson, Vic Damone, Eydie Gorme, Astrud Gilberto, and Nnenna Freelon. He was notable in the world of jazz guitar for often using a nylon-string guitar in performances and recordings.
