Biography

US Progressive Metal Vocalist, Guitarist
Born: June 16, 1951, Brooklyn, New York
Died: November 16, 2023
Charlie Dominici began his musical journey with the folk duo Billy & Charles, showcasing his versatile vocal talents. He then transitioned to rock music, playing as a guitarist and backing vocalist for the American rock band Franke and the Knockouts. Dominici's career took a significant turn in November 1987 when he joined the American progressive metal/rock band Dream Theater as the lead vocalist, succeeding Chris Collins.
His tenure with Dream Theater was marked by his contributions to their first album released in 1989. However, he parted ways with the band shortly after due to differing musical aspirations. Despite this, he maintained a connection with Dream Theater, occasionally reuniting with them for live performances.
After a period of career redirection, during which he worked as a financial manager in the auto industry, Dominici returned to music in 2005. He founded his own progressive metal band, Dominici, and released a solo three-album concept piece entitled "O3: A Trilogy."
