About

Falling into Infinity is the fourth studio album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater, released in 1997. through EastWest Record. It is the only album to feature keyboardist David Sherinian. The album's writing proce, was noted to be very frustrating for the band, as their label wanted the band to create concise, radio-friendly song, with drummer Mike Portnoy fighting against it. For over a year, the band wrote songs without given permission to record them (according to Portnoy). The album was recorded in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood in Manhattan, New York City at Avatar Studio. The album was produced by Kevin Shirley (who made several altercations to some of what was left of the album). It was originally stated to be a double album but was kept to one disc due to budget reason. .
