Biography

Japanese singer-songwriter. Born on November 28, 1953 in Suginami Tokyo, Japan.
Active since the early 70s, She was a member of Sugar Babe (opens in a new tab) with Tatsuro Yamashita (opens in a new tab). In the mid-1970s she began to release solo albums, regularly collaborating with Ryuichi Sakamoto (opens in a new tab) and other members of the Yellow Magic Orchestra (opens in a new tab). Ohnuki appeared on Sakamoto's No More Landmine single (opens in a new tab) in 2001 alongside David Sylvian (opens in a new tab), Cyndi Lauper and UA, and in 2010 released the duo album Utau (opens in a new tab) and toured with Sakamoto.
