Born July 14, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
His songs have charted over 100 times on the U.S. and U.K. charts between 1970-2018. including the #1 overall song "The Most Beautiful Girl" by Charlie Rich (1973) (co-written by Billy Sherrill & Norro Wilson). He also had many #1 country songs including "Shadows in the Moonlight" by Anne Murray (1979) (co-written by Charlie Black), "Blessed Are the Believers" by Anne Murray (1981) (co-written by Charlie Black & Sandy Pinkard) and eight others.
Bourke was named ASCAP's Country Songwriter of the Year in 1975, 1979 and 1983. He has received four Grammy Award nominations for Country Song of the Year. Inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1989.
