Biography

German singer and guitarist, born January 26, 1947 in Hamburg.
In 1968, he joined the Beat band The German Bonds, which was the precursor for his later bands in the Krautrock era. In 1970, he was co-founder of Asterix and its successor Lucifer's Friend.
Due to a devastating financial situation he and his bandmates had to work as studio musicians. Hesslein was also part of the Orchester James Last and of the Les Humphries Singers as his 'regular job' to earn money. From the late 1970's until the 2000's, Hesslein was the initiator of numerous reunions of the band.
