Biography

French chamber orchestra founded in 1953 by Jean-François Paillard under the name Ensemble Instrumental Jean-Marie Leclair, it was renamed in 1959. The ensemble specialized in Baroque repertoire and consisted of 12 strings and a harpsichord.The position of first violin was held until 1969 by Huguette Fernandez, then by Gérard Jarry.
The Orchesta was dissolved at the end of Jean-François Paillard's career in 2007.
