Biography

Michael Harrison Sweet (born July 4, 1963) is an American musician, the co-founder, principal songwriter, guitarist, and lead singer of the Christian metal band Stryper. Spin has described him as "Stryper's vocalist and principal songwriter." He has also had a successful solo career, recorded with the supergroups Sweet & Lynch and Sunbomb, and served as singer and guitarist for Boston from 2007 to 2011. Sweet sings in a tenor voice incorporating techniques such as vibrato; his vocal style has been characterised as sounding like "Dennis DeYoung fronting a Christian glam metal band" by Ultimate Classic Rock, and he is considered by some journalists to be among the greatest glam metal singers of all time.
