Biography
Showing the Discogs bio
Born on April 25, 1950 in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil.
Brazilian Producer & Engineer
Owner of and production companies.
In 30 years of career, Mazzola constructed a reputation in the Brazilian music that transformed the "mark of the double Z"( MaZZola) into a quality stamp.
Mazzola is considered one of Brazil greatest music producer in these two last decades, responsible for the artistic and technical quality that can be heard in many records of Gal Costa, João Bosco, Milton Nascimento, Ney Matogrosso, Djavan, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque, Simone, Raul Seixas, Elis Regina, Caetano Veloso and others great names of Brazilian music.
All his productions, national and international, had conquered about 73 Gold Records, 43 Platinum, 16 Double Platinum and 4 Diamond Records (above 1 million - "The Rhythm of the Saints", Paul Simon; "Radio Pirata ao Vivo”, RPM; “Não Chore Mais”, Gilberto Gil and Vou de Táxi”, Angélica).
Be aware of releases on which appear two roles (producer and percussionist) which are both credited to either "Marco Mazzola" or to his anv "Mazzola", because there is another percussionist in the database, named Mazolla. And also not to be confused with metal artist Marco Mazzola (with credits from 2016 to 2022).
