Biography
Mario Cavagnaro Llerena (* Arequipa, February 16, 1926 - † Lima, September 29, 1998), has undoubtedly been one of the best songwriters of the Peruvian Creole songbook of the twentieth century, whose content of his works reflected life everyday life of Peru.
He is the only Creole composer who has ventured with success in the international genre with songs like "Osito De Felpa", bolero interpreted in the theater, television and cinema, "La Primera Piedra", a song in rock rhythm that would reach the first place of the Latin ranking in New York for successive weeks, recorded by more than 50 international figures and "Emborráchame De Amor", a tropical theme recorded by the unforgettable Puerto Rican Héctor Lavoe.
