Biography
US conductor and composer. Born 1944 in Los Angeles, CA, USA. Son of conductor Felix Slatkin and cellist Eleanor (Aller) Slatkin, and brother of cellist Fred Zlotkin.
Music director of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra from 1979 to 1996, the National Symphony Orchestra from 1996 to 2008, then of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra from 2008 to 2012.
