Biography
American country music producer, guitarist, bassist and songwriter, born April 23, 1931, in Florence, Alabama; died December 4, 2018, in Nashville, Tennessee. Known as the "Music Man." Later relocated to Nashville.
Co-founder of Tune Records and Tune Publishing company (1956).
A&R and label executive at United Artists Records (1963-1967) and Capitol Records (1967-1972).
In 1971, started a full-time jingle business.
Was a renowned session guitarist and producer.
1997 recipient of Life Work Award for Non-Performing Achievement, from the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
