Biography

German chamber orchestra founded in October, 1953 in Saarbrücken, Germany by Karl Ristenpart.
Saar Chamber Orchestra was a string ensemble of originally 18 musicians; transferred to the new Radio-Station of Saarbrücken (Germany) in 1962; conducted by Antonio Janigro from 1968-1972; merged with the Saarbrücken Radio Symphony Orchestra in July 1973.
