Biography
James Wirrick, touring as Musical Director and guitarist for the R&B/Dance artist Sylvester in the 80's, scored his first top-ten hit in the U.S. and internationally with his song "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)." He continued writing and producing and was soon signed on as a staff writer with the Warner Chappell music publishing company in Los Angeles, CA. There he placed songs with artists such as Corey Hart, The Barrio Boys, Jimmy Somerville and Ce Ce Peniston, along with many others. In the late 90's, Wirrick began collaborating with Greg Adams, a founding member of the band "Tower of Power." This led to Wirrick and Adams co-writing and producing Greg's first solo album / CD for Sony Records "Hidden Agenda," and later the follow up album / CD "Midnight Morning." Wirrick's songs have also been featured in major motion pictures such as Sean Penn's "Milk," Eddie Murphy's "Beverly Hills Cop," Robert De Niro's "Flawless," Chris Rock's "Head of State," as well as in episodes of TV's "Friends," "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy". To date, Wirrick has earned eight Platinum and Gold record awards, 132 published titles worldwide, and dozens of Feature Film credits, Television shows and commercials. He is currently a staff writer with the Concord Music Publishing company in Los Angeles and is working with Greg Adams on his new release. He continues to write, produce and play music in Los Angeles, California.
