Showing the Discogs bio

American songwriting and production team. Holland–Dozier–Holland came together at Motown Records in the early 1960s and became one of the label's most successful songwriting and production teams. During their time at Motown, they wrote, arranged, and produced numerous hit recordings that helped define the Motown sound.
The trio left Motown in the late 1960s following a dispute with the label over royalties and profit-sharing. They continued working together until 1973 and later reunited in 2009 to compose the score for the musical The First Wives Club.
Holland–Dozier–Holland were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 as a non-performer.
