American Jazz writer, producer and disc jockey (KJAZ, San Francisco).
Born March 18,1926 in Oakland, CA, USA
Died April 20, 2014 in Menlo Park, CA, USA
Educated to doctoral level as a zoologist at UC Berkeley where he also taught. During his career in jazz, Wong hosted a radio show "Jazz Perspectives" for KJAZ (1959-1996) and was active in the International Association of Jazz Educators and served as the main producer for the Blackhawk Records and president/artistic director for the Palo Alto Records labels. Wong wrote many liner notes and articles which were collected in "Jazz on My Mind: Liner Notes, Anecdotes and Conversations from the 1940s to the 2000s" (Jefferson, NC: McFarland, 2016)
