American jazz saxophonist and flutist, born November 2, 1928 in Los Angeles, California, died December 19, 2013 in Hamburg, Germany
Performed with Joe Venuti, Claude Thornhill, Billy May, Maynard Ferguson, Shorty Rogers, Bill Hollman, Chet Baker, Clifford Brown - Max Roach, and Benny Goodman. Moved to Berlin, Germany in 1962, settling in Hamburg two years later where he became a member of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk orchestra, a position he retained until his retirement in 1994.
His first wife, Lorraine Geller (née Walsh, 1928-1958), was a bop pianist.
