American pianist, arranger, conductor and composer (Born: March 27, 1892 in New York City, New York; died: April 03, 1972 in Santa Monica, California). Married to (1916-1928).
Best known for being the first to orchestrate George Gershwin’s "Rhapsody in Blue" and composed the Grand Canyon Suite. He also worked as an arranger for Paul Whiteman, where he wrote hundreds of concert and popular arrangements between 1919-1931.
