American singer, actress and TV show host, born 12 December 1940 in East Orange, New Jersey, USA.
Mother of singer and producer Damon Elliott. Sister of Dee Dee Warwick; niece of Cissy Houston; cousin of Whitney Houston, Charles Patrick and.
Married twice to drummer/actor Bill Elliot from 1965-1975.
Changed her artist name from "Warrick" to "Warwick" because her name was misspelled on the labels of her hit record "Don't Make Me Over". (She also went by "Warwicke" during the early 1970s)
Warwick ranks among the 40 biggest hit makers between 1955 and 1999, based on her chart history on Billboard's Hot 100 pop singles chart. She is one of the most-charted female vocalists of all time, with 56 of her singles making the Hot 100 between 1962 and 1998 (12 of them Top Ten), and 80 singles in total – either solo or collaboratively – making the Hot 100, R&B and/or adult contemporary charts. Notable songs include "Walk On By", "Alfie", "You're Gonna Need Me", "That's What Friends are For", and "I'll Never Love This Way Again"
