American songwriter.
Born June 20, 1911 in the Bronx, New York, USA.
Died December 26, 1991 in New York, New York, USA.
Often associated with Johnny Tucker.
DiMinno was convicted of second degree manslaughter in 1934 & sentenced to 22 years at Sing Sing State Prison.
By the late 1940s, DiMinno had forged a career as a songwriter, and in 1958 wrote his biggest hit, ‘Return to Me’ for Dean Martin. It was later recorded by Chris Isaak, Bob Dylan, Marty Robbins, the McGuire Sisters, Connie Francis & others.
DiMinno was one of Vic Damone's chief songwriters, penning a few hits for the crooner. He collaborated musically with Ted Koehler, Carmen Lombardo, Johnny Tucker, Larry Conley, Joe Schuster, and George Cardini.
