American, blind singer, songwriter and guitarist, he was born on January 14, 1936 in Montgomery, Alabama and died on May 13, 2026 of complications from pneumonia, prostate cancer and sepsis.
Blind since age 1.
Self taught on the guitar at age 11.
Teamed with vocalist/pianist Calvin Scott as "Clarence & Calvin"; recorded for Fairlane in the 1960's.
Grammy winner.
Please do not confuse with Calvin Carter ("Goodnight, Sweetheart Goodnight", "I Ain't Got You", "He Will Break Your Heart" etc.)
