Founded in 1952 by Bernhard Paumgartner as Camerata Academica des Mozarteums Salzburg with students and teachers from the Mozarteum University (opens in a new tab). Later, the name was changed to Camerata Academica Salzburg and then Camerata Salzburg.
Not to be confused with Das Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg.
