Antonio Valdez Herrera, son of Tomás Valdez and Carlota Herrera, was born on September 13 in the town of Cócorit, Sonora.
In 1957 he moved to Mexico City. There he continued with his career as an announcer, in addition to joining the duet Amanecer, and the following year, 1958, he created the song that made him known as an interpreter and composer, "Renunciación", which is the one that has given him the most satisfactions. in all his work.
