Canadian recording engineer and record producer.
From 1969-77 Anton Kwiatkowski worked as producer/engineer for EMI in London, England, recording with the London Philharmonic, London Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, New Philharmonia, English Chamber, Hallé and Scottish National Orchestras plus numerous chamber ensembles and recitalists. He also worked in the field of popular music, including many sessions at EMI’s famous Abbey Road studios.
In 1977 Anton Kwiatkowski was invited to come to Canada to upgrade the recording quality of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s in-house record label CBC Records. The resulting CBC Records SM5000 series, featuring artists from across Canada, was launched in 1981 to showcase his new recordings, which met with immediate critical success.
Anton Kwiatkowski now works as a freelance producer/engineer and has recorded for Analekta, Angel-EMI, ASV, Bis, Chandos, EBS, Fanfare, Hungaroton, Hyperion, IBS, IMP, Marquis, Opening Day, Pro Arte, RCA, Sefel, Sony Classical, Summit and Unicorn-Kanchana. Freelance work has taken him as far afield as Budapest, Kiev and Mexico City. His recordings have received numerous awards including twenty-one JUNO awards plus one hundred JUNO nominations, including two for “Recording Engineer of the Year”.
