Born: 31st October 1927 Memphis, Tennessee, USA
Died: 10th October 2022 Geneva, Switzerland
Founder and leading member of the internationally acclaimed Anita Kerr Singers (opens in a new tab) and regular collaborator with Rod McKuen. Relocated to Switzerland in 1970 with her family and Swiss second husband and manager Alex Grob. They settled in Montreux and opened Mountain Studios in 1974, attracting top artists, including Queen, David Bowie, Duran Duran and Chris Rea. In 1972, she composed, arranged and conducted the soundtrack for the film Limbo, a first for a woman in American cinema. In 1985, she composed, arranged, and conducted Switzerland's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest.
For abbreviated writing credits do NOT confuse with French composer André Kerr.
