Biography

English singer and songwriter, born 26 March 1971 in Barking, Essex, England.
Hendy was an original member of East 17, formed in London in 1991 with Tony Mortimer, Brian Harvey and Terry Coldwell. He performed vocals with the group throughout their original 1990s period and appeared on the albums "Walthamstow" (1992), "Steam" (1994) and "Up All Night" (1995).
Following Tony Mortimer's departure and the group's initial split in 1997, Hendy reunited with Brian Harvey and Terry Coldwell under the name E-17. The trio recorded the album "Resurrection", released by Telstar Records in 1998. During this period, Hendy also received songwriting credits, including on the singles "Each Time" and "Betcha Can't Wait".
E-17 disbanded in 1999. Hendy later reunited with the other original members of East 17 for a one-off concert at Shepherd's Bush Empire, London, in May 2006. He subsequently continued performing with Brian Harvey and Terry Coldwell as East 17.
In 2011, Hendy was part of another East 17 line-up with Tony Mortimer, Terry Coldwell and Blair Dreelan. Following Dreelan's departure, Hendy, Mortimer and Coldwell recorded the album "Dark Light", released in 2012. Hendy also suggested the album title.
After Mortimer's departure in 2013, Hendy continued with East 17 alongside Terry Coldwell and Robbie Craig. He was also part of the line-up associated with the group's album "24/7", initially released in Australia in 2017.
Hendy left East 17 in June 2018, citing personal reasons.
