Biography
German multi-instrumentalist from Wuppertal in the Krautrock era.
Grumbkow started his musical career in the 1960's in the local bands "Harry Van Milton Group" and "Action Issue Blues Band" together with his older brothers Andreas and Christian von Grumbkow. In 1970, Christian and Joachim founded the Psychedelic Rock band Hoelderlin together with Christian's later wife Nanny de Ruig. First as cover band, starting from 1971, they had a fix line-up and performed own musical works. After he stayed with the band until its temporary end in 1981, he worked as architect in Kassel and Wuppertal. Joachim von Grumbkow passed away in 1990.
