Nanny de Ruig

Dutch paintress and singer, born in Wassenaar, Holland in 1947.
She spent parts of her childhood near Paris, France. In 1964, she started to study arts & design at the "Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten“ in Den Haag, The Netherlands. In 1968, she awarded a scholarship at the "Werkkunstschule" in Wuppertal, Germany. She meets there her future husband.
With Christian and his brother, she co-founds the Krautrock band in 1968, first a cover band and from 1969 a band with own songs, which are sung by Nanny. Additionally, she also made dance performances on stage.
At the end of 1973, she left the band due to her pregnancy and founded a family with Christian. In the late 1970's, she resumed her artist career. She stayed in Wuppertal and is today art therapist for children.
