Biography

Alternative Rock supergroup formed in New York in 1991, composed of vocalist/bassist Richard Hell, guitarist Don Fleming and two members of Sonic Youth; guitarist Thurston Moore and drummer Steve Shelley.
Their initial release was a limited-edition set of three 7" EPs, which was later released as one CD on compact disc in 1992. "3 New Songs", an EP credited solely to Hell, ensued, although it featured the Dim Stars’ line-up.
This was followed by a full-length album, which was regarded as a showcase for Hell's songwriting abilities. Guitarist Robert Quine, formerly of the Voidoids, and Jad Fair assisted the proceedings. The group did not tour together and essentially disbanded after the release of the LP.
