ZZ Top's First Album is the debut album by American blues-rock band ZZ Top, released in 1971. In 1987, this album was remixed for CD release. The full album is currently unavailable on CD in its original mix (though tracks 2, 3, 4, and 9 are available in their original mix on 2003's Chrome, Smoke & BBQ boxset, and track 10 is available on 1977's The Best of ZZ Top). The album is now available in its original mix as part of the 2013 boxset The Complete Studio Albums (1970-1990). Personnel * Billy Gibbons – guitar, lead vocals * Dusty Hill – bass, backing vocals, lead vocals on "Goin' Down to Mexico", co-lead vocals on "Squank" * Frank Beard aka Rube Beard – drums, percussion.

CD releases of this album contain a different mix to the vinyl.
The album was completely remixed in 1987 for CD release to update the sound. The original vinyl mix appears on CD in The Complete Studio Albums 1970-1990 (Europe 2013) (opens in a new tab).
