About
Tony Bennett’s warm voice is so preternaturally persuasive, it can make even songs with no holiday connection, like "My Favorite Things," sound right at home on a Christmas album. Over arrangements by Robert Farnon that alternate between swing (“Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town”) and atmospheric easy listening ("Snowfall"), the crooner’s silky, sturdy sound radiates joy. A medley of five carols offers a trip down memory lane, while Bennett indulges in supple timekeeping and a ringing climax on "Winter Wonderland," one of the album's highlights.
