About
Mission of Burma's debut EP introduced one of the most sophisticated groups to emerge from the aftermath of punk—a band capable of filtering the raw countercultural energy of the early '80s through complex song structures and lyrics that held everybody to strict scrutiny. "Academy Fight Song" and "That's When I Reach for My Revolver" are both laced with sharp, lethally precise guitar clangs and barely contained stop/start rhythmic fury, anchored by frontman Roger Miller’s self-castigations for failing to live up to his own ideals.
