Inspired by their candid autobiography, <i>The Dirt</i>, <i>Saints of Los Angeles</i> raucously celebrates the Crüe’s infamous decadence. They pay tribute to their glam-punk beginnings on the spastically pounding “Face Down in the Dirt” and nostalgically chronicle their wild club years with the power-pop gem “Down at the Whisky.” But not every memory is a happy one: The angry “Welcome to the Machine” rails against the corporate record industry that treated them like a “piece of meat.”
