"Pure Dylan" is not just another 'best of' but a single-disc compilation spanning almost the entirety of Dylan's career and includes many tracks that don't normally make Dylan compilations. Contains rare tracks like 'Trouble in Mind', the solo version of 'Spanish Is the Loving Tongue' and the beautiful 1963 outtake "Percy's Song". A perfect release for the hardcore fan and the uninitiated.
The version of 'Trouble in Mind' here is still unique to this release. It was released in edited form (last verse cut out) on single in 1979. Here you find the complete take 5. Take 1 is included on Trouble No More (The Bootleg Series Vol. 13 / 1979 - 1981).
The version of 'Spanish Is the Loving Tongue' here is the single version from 1971, otherwise only available on Masterpieces, except here it is released in stereo for the first time anywhere.
