About
Def Leppard’s full-length debut finds the future arena rockers harnessing their New Wave of British Heavy Metal roots for maximum impact. Propelled by the scalding twin guitars of Pete Willis and Steve Clark alongside vocalist Joe Elliott’s killer wail, anthemic tunes like “Rock Brigade,” “Wasted,” and “Hello America” explode with attitude and youthful enthusiasm. Bangers like “Answer to the Master,” “Rocks Off,” and “Satellite” might seem like far cries from the gleaming pop-metal productions they’d later record with Robert “Mutt” Lange, but they certainly hint at forthcoming glories.
