Occasional Rain is a Soul & Funk album by Terry Callier, originally released in 1972. On Gatefold: 18 pressings tracked.
About
Terry Callier was the first to blend folk, soul, and jazz in the ‘60s, and by the time he finally released his second album in 1972, he was an absolute master of that mix. With echoes of Laura Nyro and Van Morrison circa Astral Weeks, Callier's warm, cavernous baritone darts artfully around open-ended arrangements that frame his acoustic guitar with strings, an angelic choir, and R&B grooves. Tunes like "Trance on Sedgewick Street" and the title track are among the most dreamily intoxicating music of the era.
