About
With their down-and-dirty, no-frills sound already leading an old-school revolution, The Black Keys took the next logical step on their fourth album, recording the whole raucous rave-up in drummer Patrick Carney's basement. We can definitely hear the extra grittiness, especially on the sludgy "You're the One" and the boot-stomping "Just a Little Heat." Throughout, Dan Auerbach's raspy vocals take on an extra layer of reverberating echo—the kind you might get off of a concrete floor.
