About
Alongside the multiplatinum Night Moves, 'Live' Bullet made 1976 Bob Seger’s breakthrough year. Recorded in the band’s hometown stronghold of Detroit, Bullet is a perfect specimen of no-fuss rock ’n' roll, drawing on what was already more than a decade of material, from inspired covers (“Bo Diddley,” Tina Turner’s “Nutbush City Limits”) to now-timeless originals (“Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man,” the journeyman’s lament “Turn the Page”). You can almost hear Seger turning himself inside-out onstage—or, in the words of the band’s introducer: “You are here because you want the real thing.”
