About

Innocent Victim is the eleventh album by Uriah Heep. It was recorded between July and september 1977 and released in November 1977. It features the same line-up as the previous album, Firefly. Although it wasn't too popular in the UK or the US, it did well in Australia, New Zealand and germany. "Free Me" was released as a single and reached #1 in New Zealand. It was re-relased as an expanded deluxe edition in 2004 with 6 bonus tracks, including session out-takes and 3 live versions recorded in 1979 (these are not the versions available on Live In Europe 1979). It was the second of three albums released by Uriah Heep, that was recorded by the line-up featuring: John Lawton Ken Hensley Mick Box Trevor Bolder Lee Kerslake.

Innocent Victim is the 11th studio album by British hard rock band Uriah Heep.
Second John Lawton period album.
Sixth album to be recorded on 24-track tape.
Released in the UK during September 1977 on Bronze Records, catalogue number BRONZE BRON504 (opens in a new tab)
Released in the USA September 1977 on Warner Brothers (opens in a new tab) BSK 3145 (opens in a new tab).
First released as a re-mastered CD by Castle (opens in a new tab) in 1997 as ESMCD560 (opens in a new tab) with three bonus tracks.
The vinyl version of the album was released worldwide (except North America) as a single sleeve cover with a lyric cover insert or separate lyric insert sheet.
The US and Canada had a different snakeskin effect cover with various pictures of the band on it.
This has been included on the reverse of the booklet of the 2004 expanded deluxe edition.
