High and Mighty is Uriah Heep's ninth studio album, released in June 1976. By many fan, it is considered to be the last true Uriah Heep album, as it was the last to be recorded with the band's original singer, David Byron. He was fired from the band soon later at the demand of Ken Hensley, who couldn't stand Byron's erractic behaviour caused by his alcohol abuse. Byron was asked to rejoin the band in 1980, but refused. He died in 1985 of alcohol related complication. It was also the second and last album to feature the bassist, John Wetton. The album was remastered and re-released in 2004 with 8 bonus track. High and Mighty presents more pop-oriented side of Uriah Heep. It doesn't feature any lenghty songs and the lyrical content of the album lacks the fantastical element of the band's previous release. The album was recorded by the line-up that featured: David Byron (his last appearance with the band) Mick Box Ken Hensley Lee Kerslake .
