"Hero, Hero" is a compilation that originally included the entire 1974 Rocka Rolla (opens in a new tab) album, 6 of the 9 tracks from 1976's Sad Wings of Destiny (opens in a new tab), and a previously unreleased version of Joan Baez's "Diamonds & Rust" recorded for but not included on 'Sad Wings of Destiny' (the song was subsequently re-recorded for and appeared on 1977's Sin After Sin (opens in a new tab)).
On earlier editions of 'Hero, Hero', the 'Rocka Rolla' tracks are not the original album versions. Instead, they are heavier, sharper remixes prepared in 1981 by that album's producer, Rodger Bain (Bain also remixed "Diamonds & Rust" for inclusion here). Later editions, however, take this material straight from the 'Rocka Rolla' album.
